Update 1.2

This update primarily focuses on enhancing the AI's combat capabilities. Future updates will introduce further improvements to CSCD AI behavior and tactics.

New features:

  • ANTI NPC Defensive Tactics: The ANTI NPC unit now effectively evades threats, establishes a strategic defensive position, and performs intelligent peek-and-retreat actions. This sophisticated behavior grants the player valuable time to assess the situation and determine an effective counter-tactic, promoting more dynamic engagements.

  • Body-mounted camera filter and screen shake effect: Inspired by games such as Bodycam and Unrecord, players can now choose from new options in the Gameplay settings: 'Disable', 'Filter only', 'Movement only', or 'Both'. This new setting replaces the former "Camera movement fx" option.

  • Dynamic muffled sound effect: Various in-game sounds (gunshots and voices), will experience a dynamic muffling effect, based on the relative position between the sound source and the listener.

Improvement

  • AI Target Detection Mechanic Upgrade: The AI now possesses a significantly improved and more consistent target detection ability. This upgrade addresses previous illogical behaviors, such as AI inexplicably hesitating to engage despite a clear line of sight, or conversely, detecting players through unrealistically small and inconsistent gaps. The AI's perception is now more aligned with player expectations for realism and fairness.

  • Sound Control System Upgrade: An improved sound management and control system that effectively handles multiple sound elements. This system has been virtually rebuilt from the ground up, featuring a clear hierarchy in terms of module roles and processing capabilities. The primary objective of this system overhaul was to enable adaptation to more complex future audio requirements for the sound system. This new infrastructure has also been meticulously documented, sound editor can easily read and understand it, thereby facilitating the creation of appropriate sound assets for the CSCD game

  • Better object culling system: The game now runs smoother due to optimized object culling system that features low CPU consumption than before
